MISSION AND VISION
STATEMENT, EK-12
M.S.A.D.
#67 provides
a safe, caring, supportive environment
which challenges individuals
to fulfill their potential
as lifelong learners and
responsible, contributing citizens.
In order to fulfill
this mission:
STUDENTS
will participate in their
learning by
- seeking opportunities to grow intellectually, physically,
emotionally, and socially;
- setting goals, striving to achieve those goals, and assessing
their progress;
- becoming independent, informed thinkers;
- contributing positively to their schools and communities;
- accepting responsibility for the consequences of their decisions;
and
- modeling responsible behavior and positive attitudes.
PARENTS
will work as partners with the
schools to improve the education of their children by
- providing a home environment conducive to learning;
- encouraging children to do their best;
- sharing responsibility for learning;
- communicating with the schools;
- actively supporting school programs;
- supporting learning with appropriate resources;
- accepting responsibility for the consequences of their decisions;
and
- modeling responsible behavior and positive attitudes.
THE
STAFF will promote high
expectations for all students as they facilitate active learning by
- using varied and appropriate instructional and assessment methods;
- setting professional goals and assessing their progress;
- communicating with parents;
- modeling lifelong learning;
- accepting responsibility for the consequences of their decisions;
and
- modeling responsible behavior and positive attitudes.
THE
ADMINISTRATION will provide
educational leadership by
- implementing district policies;
- managing resources efficiently and effectively;
- overseeing the day-to-day operations of the schools;
- communicating effectively with all stakeholders;
- promoting and supporting the professional growth of themselves
and the staff;
- accepting responsibility for the consequences of their decisions;
and
- modeling responsible behavior and positive attitudes.
THE
SCHOOL BOARD will represent the
citizens of the district by
- staying informed of needs and circumstances within the schools;
- setting policy and approving programs that promote high-quality
education;
- hiring qualified, professional staff whom they will hold
accountable for performing their various roles;
- supporting adequate funding for the total school program;
- accepting responsibility for the consequences of their decisions;
and
- modeling responsible behavior and positive attitudes.
THE
COMMUNITY will support school
programs by
- staying informed of the district’s needs;
- sharing human and financial resources;
- attending school-sponsored activities;
- utilizing services provided within the district;
- accepting responsibility for the consequences of their decisions;
and
- modeling responsible behavior and positive attitudes.
STATE
AND NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL
AGENCIES AND ELECTED LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS will support the
educational goals of the district by
- considering the educational challenges of local communities;
- providing resources and technical assistance;
- allocating adequate and equitable funding;
- accepting responsibility for the consequences of their decisions;
and
- modeling responsible behavior and positive attitudes.
CURRICULUM,
INSTRUCTION, AND
ASSESSMENT will
- be student-centered;
- reflect high standards and research-based practices;
- inspire enthusiasm for learning; and
- be reviewed and revised regularly to meet changing needs.
DISTRICT
FACILITIES will provide a
well-maintained, safe, and healthful environment which
- is conducive to teaching and learning;
- meets the needs of programs held within them; and
- is accessible to the community.
