MAINE STUDENT BOOK AWARD



ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION
FOR MAINE STUDENT BOOK AWARD


The award is determined each year by participating Maine students in grades four through eight. The winner is selected from an annotated recommended reading list that is compiled each year by the MSBA Committee. Any interested readers may submit review forms for the committee's consideration.


To be eligible for the 2012-2013 school year master list:


  1. The book must have been published in 2011 as it appears in the physical book.

  2. The book must be original or, if traditional in origin, the result of individual research.

  3. All forms of writing are eligible for consideration. This includes fiction and non-fiction, such as short stories, drama, and poetry.

  4. Books should have young readers as their intended audience, display respect for children's understanding, ability and appreciation, and be appropriate for students in grades four through eight.
